Two ways men usually find us
Most men arrive here on one of two paths
Pathway one
You have a medical diagnosis.
Maybe a urologist or another physician evaluated you and testing identified something, a diagnosed condition, recovery from prostate surgery, chronic pelvic pain, or urinary and sexual changes. Pelvic floor PT works alongside your medical care by addressing the muscular, movement, coordination, and functional pieces of what you’re experiencing. We’re not replacing your urologist or physician, we’re another part of your healthcare team.
Pathway Two
You've been told, “Everything looks normal.”
Imaging, labs, infection testing, nothing concerning was found, and yet the symptoms are still there. Normal testing is good news, but it doesn't evaluate how your pelvic floor muscles are actually functioning. Those muscles can be tight, painful, overactive, weak, or poorly coordinated. Hips, abdomen, breathing, nerves, and the nervous system can all contribute.
“Your testing can be normal and your symptoms can still be real. There may be another piece of the puzzle worth exploring.”
Testimonials
Anatomy, briefly
Yes - men have a pelvic floor too.
It's a group of muscles at the base of your pelvis, and they work all day long:

05
Bladder Control and Urination
Starting, holding, and fully emptying your bladder.
Bowel Movements
Relaxing and coordinating so you can go without straining.
Erections and Ejaculations
Blood flow, tension, and coordination all play a role.
Pelvic and Core Support
The floor of your core, working with your hips and abdomen.
Pressure Management
Handling load during lifting, running, and daily movement.
And like any muscle…
they can become tight, weak, painful, overactive, or poorly coordinated.

Let's clear this up
Common misconceptions
Most men have heard at least one of these. None of them are quite right.
-
Men have pelvic floor muscles too. Pelvic PT can address bladder, bowel, sexual, pain, and core-related concerns in men.
-
Normal medical testing does not necessarily evaluate muscular and neuromuscular pelvic floor function. Pelvic PT may provide another avenue to explore when symptoms persist.
-
Pelvic PT can complement medical care by addressing the functional and musculoskeletal components that may accompany a diagnosis, surgery, or medical treatment.
-
Not everyone needs strengthening. Many men need help relaxing and coordinating an overactive or tense pelvic floor.
-
Pelvic floor dysfunction affects men across every age and fitness level, including athletes and lifters.
-
Internal rectal assessment can be useful in some cases, but it is never automatic. We can learn a great deal through conversation, movement, breathing, orthopedic assessment, and external examination. If internal assessment is recommended, we explain why, what it involves, and obtain your consent first. You are always in control.
So what does pelvic floor PT actually look like?
No mystery, no surprises. We look at the whole person, not just the pelvis.
Evaluation may include
Breathing and pressure management
Hip, spine, pelvis, and core mobility

Hands-on manual therapy

Have a diagnosis? Still looking for answers?
Start with a conversation.
You don’t have to decide whether pelvic PT is right for you before you contact us, that’s exactly what we figure out together. The discovery call is a free 20–30 minute conversation where you can share what you’re experiencing, tell us what testing has or hasn’t found, ask questions, and decide whether we feel like the right fit. If pelvic PT sounds appropriate, we’ll explain the next step. If we think another provider or further medical evaluation makes more sense, we’ll tell you that too.
You deserve more than “just live with it.”
